Diabetes what’s that? It’s when my body does not produce insulin because my pancreas has packed up and will not work. I then have to inject insulin because I can no longer produce it. So, having diabetes is just a case of replacing the insulin that your body no longer produces via injections . . . that’s easy! It just means you have to take an injection every day. Simple. End of story . . . I wish. Diabetes not only has a physical effect on the lives of those of us who have the condition it also invokes many emotions which, in turn, also play a part in our well being. The first reaction of people who have just been told they have diabetes is usually shock, fear and anxiety all emotional responses, all strong and influential feelings. These feelings also have an effect on the way we begin to think about our future lives. [download]
