The good news is that you are well placed to get your children active and eating healthily, albeit that it will take some dedication and probably a change in the way that your family approaches eating and exercise. The bad news is that there is no time to lose. The statistics make pretty scary reading. Childhood obesity is at an all-time high and today’s youth are playing less sport and are involved in less activity than ever before. According to the National Audit Office, nearly one-third of children between the ages of 2 and 15 are overweight or obese. With today’s sedentary lifestyles, more children than ever before are at risk of becoming overweight and suffering from the inherent health and emotional ramifications that entails. [download]
